Our work with Safeguarding Professionals
The RLSS works closely with lots of professional bodies to ensure that safeguarding within the Church is effective and transparent.
Below is a list of the common professionals we have contact with. If you are wanting to contact RLSS but are not included in the list below, we still want to hear from you, please get in touch with our safeguarding team.
Police / Operation Hydrant
We work across all areas of justice including legal and probation.
LADOs
If a case needs referring to a LADO we will do so and cooperate in any investigations needed. Including giving details of internal safeguarding investigations.
Social Services and Adult Care
We work with both child and adult social service teams to ensure the welfare of children and adults at risk is paramount at all times.
Other Church Bodies
RLSS work closely with other Catholic bodies such as Bishops Conference, CSSA, Diocesan Safeguarding Teams.
Disclosure and Barring Service
RLSS work with DBS to ensure that all Religious have the checks they need and any information needed is passed back to DBS teams.
Interfaith Safeguarding Groups
RLSS also work with faith based safeguarding groups which include representations from all major faith groups
Therapeutic Services
RLSS support victims and survivors into counselling when needed and work with the counsellor and other professionals to ensure the support is right for the individual.
Survivor Advocates
RLSS encourage Survivor advocates to get in contact on behalf of Survivors who feel unable to do so themselves. You can accompany the Survivor or contact on their behalf, if the latter you must have their express permission to do so.
Charity Commission
Most of our members are charities and as such we work closely with the charity commission.
