Trustee Board – which has overall oversight of and responsibility for safeguarding. You should have a balanced Trustee Board and not let one Trustee dominate your work – Trustees should work together.

The Trustee for Safeguarding – is accountable for reporting on safeguarding to the Trustee Board.

The Safeguarding Subcommittee – supports, assists and advises the Trustees, via the Safeguarding Trustee, to ensure the Trustees are discharging their safeguarding duties correctly. This is a good way of bringing in the safeguarding expertise of lay members.

The Safeguarding Lead – is accountable to the Safeguarding Trustee and Safeguarding Subcommittee and acts as the main source of support, advice and expertise for safeguarding in your RLG.
